Current transformer is an instrument that changes the large current in the primary circuit into the small current that can be measured by the secondary ammeter. It is mainly used for current monitoring and measurement or measuring electric energy.
The monitoring and measurement of current can be divided into two forms: one is to detect the current with an ammeter; The other is thermal overload protection measurement.
The wiring method of current detection by ammeter is shown in the following figure:
The P1 terminal of the current transformer in the figure is connected with the A1 terminal of the ammeter, and the A2 terminal is connected in series and grounded with the P2 terminal of the transformer.
How to short circuit other unused transformers?
As we all know, the secondary side of current transformer must not be opened. Because the current transformer is a step-up transformer, in the open circuit state, the secondary side will produce high voltage, which is easy to cause electric shock to human body. Therefore, the secondary side must be short circuited when not in use. The simplest method is to connect P1 and P2 ends directly with 2.5mm wires.
How to exchange P1 and P2 after they are terminated reversely?
When P1 is terminated at P2, connect P1 and P2 back to their original positions.
