Analysis of the selection and application of silicon
Since the loss of silicon steel in the alternating magnetic field is very small, the transformer mainly uses silicon steel sheets as magnetic materials. Silicon steel sheets can be divided into two types hot-rolled and cold-rolled. Cold-rolled silicon steel strips have the advantages of small size, light weight, and high efficiency because of their higher magnetic permeability and lower loss. The performance of hot rolled silicon steel strip is slightly inferior to that of cold rolled silicon steel strip. Ordinary EI transformers are made by punching silicon steel plates into 0.35-0.5mm thick E-type and I-type slices, which are heat-treated and then inserted into the winding wire package. Most of these cores use hot-rolled silicon steel sheets. The cores of the toroidal and C-type transformers are formed by winding cold-rolled silicon steel strips, and the C-type transformers are cut through heat treatment and varnishing.
